Krka National Park (Croatian: Nacionalni park Krka) is one of the Croatian national parks, named after the river Krka. It is located along the middle-lower course of the Krka River in central Dalmatia, in Šibenik-Knin county, just a few kilometers northeast of the city of Šibenik It is the seventh national park in Croatia and was proclaimed a national park in 1985.
Krka waterfalls are part of the most beautiful national parks in the area. The Krka River is a wonderful phenomenon that out of the sea shapes the many natural beauties. One of the most visited and most beautiful waterfalls is Skradinski buk. With 46 meters height extends to 17 limestone steps and is the largest travertine barrier in Europe.
National park covers an area along the river Krka which springs at the foot of the mountain Dinara near Knin, flows through a canyon 75 km long, flows through Prokljansko lake and flows into the Bay of Sibenik. On Skradin noise can be seen old mills, ethnographic collection (blacksmith, baskets enter) various souvenir shops. On the marked area is allowed and swimming.
